The new Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi is the most prestigious building in the United Arab Emirates; a building not only reflecting its proponent functions but also representing Abu Dhabi’s leadership within the GCC and the world. As the project executive lead at Wilson Associates Michael Linczyc was the project director for this prestigious project and managed the entire interior architecture component, coordinating between designers and the contractors, determining the optimum construction strategy and schedule, selecting the procurement strategy for the furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) and interior construction, and ensures that all design and construction works are presented and approved to reflect the highest quality standards reflecting the prestige of the commission.

Presidential Palace Project - CP and VP Wings

Client Background
The palace will be utilized to house the offices of H.H. the President, H.H. the Vice President, H.H. the Crown Prince, and top state ministers and officials. As such, it shall serve an important role as the primary governmental facility for receiving and hosting visiting dignitaries. As the primary governmental facility for receiving visiting dignitaries, the whole development will be prestigious and stately, with both aesthetic considerations and security demands as high priorities.

Objective
The design allows for traditional and modern design to exist in harmony and to ultimately be a source of pride for all people of the United Arab Emirates. The site of the new Presidential Palace, located on Ras Al Akhdar peninsula adjacent to the Emirates Palace hotel, will encompass approximately 150 hectares including the palace complex and the required ancillary buildings.

Scope

  • The Palace complex will also include three palatial wings:

  • H.H. the President wing (30,797 sq.m.) includes H.H. office, majilis, meeting rooms and other offices with facilities. (By Xavier Carton)

  • H.H. the Vice President wing (23,710 sq.m.) includes H.H. office, majilis, cabinet hall, meeting rooms and other facilities. (By Wilson Associates)
